I recently have been going on my prayer walks and have enjoyed these sermon notes on the power of focused light. The church I attend in New Direction Community Church In Vancouver Wa.

• We are the light and the light is the greater power
• When we become focused we become more powerful like when you use a magnifing glass to focus the light on a certian piece of paper
• The paper wouldn’t burn until the light was focused
• When we become focused light it inspires others
• Key verse Luke 4:18 (Jesus was focused light)
• The more we focus on Jeus the more power we have
• One analogy would be, when we become more focused in school we pay better attention, take better notes, and past the test when they are given. (Think about that spiritually)
• Jesus didn’t allow anybody to take him off his focus

• The power we have is in how focused we are
• If you check where a person spends their money, you will find out where a person’s heart is
• One example if that of a when Pastor Hopkins when to Africa on a missions trip and they wanted to charge him a fee for the Bibles he was taking over, since they told him that he was planning on selling them. Pastor told them that he was giving them away but they didn’t believe him. But another, senior customs officer came by and saw what was happing and found out Pastor was a Man of God. Once that happened not only did Pastor not have to pay any fees, but the Senior customs officer made the whole customs line wait while pastor prayed over her at the airport. Since pastor was focused on his mission trip God worked in an amesome on his behalf.
• Christians affect change when they are focused light
• If we focus on Gods business, he will take care of our business
• Most things in our lives are to keep us off focus, we need to focus on his word and his call
• We will have success when we are focused

These are the sermon notes for Pastor A.R. Hopkins Jr preach on oulasting the storm from a chruch in Vancouver Wa.

Key note scripure Acts 27:31

• We face storms that come our way, but thay don’t last always.
• These storms challenge our faith and belif in God.
• In verse 31 it says, except you stay in the ship, that is how we outlast the storms of life is stay in the ship with Jesus.
• Tuff times don’t last but tuff people do.
• Some people are around the ship, but when your in the ship then you can say that you trust in God.
• I can say greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world.

Verses 13 through 31

18 - Sometimes you find it necessary to lighten the ship

22 - As long as you have Jesus you can be of good cheer and outlast the storm.

29 - Cast anchors, we have to be securly anchored to make it thourgh the storm.

31 - Stay the course, you might not have the money but you have a promise

• Ourlast the storm, the only way to do that is to stay in the ship.
• It is better to be in the ocean with broken pieces than with nothing.

When you feel you are ready to become a member of the church family at New Direction Church in Vancouver Wa, we want to celebrate that decision with you. In fact, so does Jesus Christ! He wants you to let others know when you make that decision.

 
Before the end of each service the minister will “open the doors of the church.” What that means is that we are now opening the house of God to those who would like to become a part of the N.D.C.C. family. 
 
At this portion of the service all are welcome to walk down to the front of the church and express their desire to join any of the ministers that will be ready to pray with and receive you as a new member of N.D.C.C. 
 
After joining you are then ready to complete our four week class 101, entitled “Discovering Church Membership.” After completing this class your membership into the N.D.C.C. family will become official and you will receive a certificate of membership.

Pastor and First Lady sponsored a dinner at the Kennedy School to thank the members of the Leadership Team of New Direction Commuinity Church in Vancouver WA.

Each member was greeted by Pastor and First Lady with a rose. Everyone enjoyed the games and wonderful buffet. First Lady prepared a video showing the leaders at work in their various ministries.

Each leader received a gift basket from Pastor and First Lady to show their appreciation for the hard work and commitment to the Victory Temple vision.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I greet you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

My testimony has been the same over the years; the Lord is richly blessing the ministry at New Direction Community Church in Vancouver WA.

We are right on track with our purpose and our mission. The ministry has helped an orphanage and church in Ghana, while we stand fast in our commitment to our outreach ministry on the streets of Portland. We know that only what we do for Christ will last. All of our other ministries are also going forward with renewed and continued blessings.

I encourage everyone to continue in your spiritual growth. The only way you can grow and mature in God is to STAY CLOSE by committing yourself to the house of God. We are living in the last days and we need to stay close so that we are able to hear the voice of the Lord. The devil wants to separate you from the people of God and the House of God so you will not be able to draw strength in your time of need.

Stay faithful to God and the Church and you will be blessed; you cannot make it on your own. Continue to pray for one another and our ministry.
