Archive for December, 2008Each year Pastor and the Advisory Committee develop strategies and objectives for the year. The church in Vancouver Wa had a goal to purchase a van to provide transportation for the members who needed a ride to get to services and activities. The van is one more goal we have achieved this year. God is truly blessing us with the tools we need to fulfill our purpose of saving souls as we move into the first phase of evangelism. Pastor and First Lady sponsored a dinner at the Kennedy School to thank the members of the Leadership Team of New Direction Commuinity Church in Vancouver WA.
Each member was greeted by Pastor and First Lady with a rose. Everyone enjoyed the games and wonderful buffet. First Lady prepared a video showing the leaders at work in their various ministries. Each leader received a gift basket from Pastor and First Lady to show their appreciation for the hard work and commitment to the Victory Temple vision.
Thank you to: Deacon and Mother Bolds, Deacon and Sister Crain, Deacon and Sister Cyphers, Elder and Missionary Doyle, Mother G. Johnson, Sister J. Johnson, Sister N. Martin, Sister P. Moye, Deacon and Sister Perry, Sister V. Proby, Sister M. Smith, Mother B. Streeter, Sister E. Suell and Sister T. Suell. Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, I greet you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
My testimony has been the same over the years; the Lord is richly blessing the ministry at New Direction Community Church in Vancouver WA. We are right on track with our purpose and our mission. The ministry has helped an orphanage and church in Ghana, while we stand fast in our commitment to our outreach ministry on the streets of Portland. We know that only what we do for Christ will last. All of our other ministries are also going forward with renewed and continued blessings.
I encourage everyone to continue in your spiritual growth. The only way you can grow and mature in God is to STAY CLOSE by committing yourself to the house of God. We are living in the last days and we need to stay close so that we are able to hear the voice of the Lord. The devil wants to separate you from the people of God and the House of God so you will not be able to draw strength in your time of need. Stay faithful to God and the Church and you will be blessed; you cannot make it on your own. Continue to pray for one another and our ministry.

Welcome to New Direction Community Church! We are not a new church, but have recently expanded our Church in Vancouver WA. God gave our Pastor, Pastor Archie Ray Hopkins Jr., this vision statement for our church over 10 years ago. Below is what God has been accomplishing, and will continue to accomplish through our church.
IT IS THE VISION of a place where people can be liberated and set free from every form of bondage or burden in their lives through faith in the word, the power of God, enabling believers to walk in victory and freedom from sin. IT IS THE VISION of a place where believers are trained and equipped for leadership to impact our homes, church, and communities with the light of Christ. IT IS THE VISION of equipping every believer for a specific ministry by helping them discover the gifts and talents God has given them. IT IS THE VISION of sharing the “Good News” of Jesus Christ with hundreds and thousands of people around the world, through television, radio and written literature. IT IS THE VISION of developing people to spiritual maturity through bible studies, small group fellowships, seminars and retreats. IT IS THE VISION of a place where our members will have volunteer and paid employment opportunities within the ministry. IT IS THE VISION of a place that assists and ministers to the needs of other Pastors and ministry leaders all over the world. IT IS THE VISION of affecting positive change in our community by feeding and clothing the hungry; providing support to the family through affordable and safe daycare services, establishing a school with educational programs, parenting support and training, drug and alcohol counseling and youth outreach. IT IS THE VISION of building a state of the art worship center, seating thousands of believers, including accommodations for prayer, classrooms for a variety of classes and study opportunities, and a recreation center for youth. All of this will be designed to minister to the total person, spiritually, emotionally, physically, and socially. I Stand With Confidence And Full Assurance That This Vision Statement Will Become Reality. Why? Because It Is Inspired By God! Pastor Archie R.
